Terry Nummela
Retired & Admired
Terry, Congratulations on a standout career and best wishes for your retirement! We honor your 29 years of service to our team and celebrate the legacy of hard work and dedication you leave behind. We will miss you!
What prompted you to pursue a career with MCCU?
Initially, I was approached by a former VP and asked if I wanted to come to work at the Credit Union. At the time, I was working 60-hour work weeks and many weekends. I wanted to get away from that, and I started with the Credit Union in 1992.
What will you miss most about your job?
I will miss my co-workers the most. We have such a good group working together, and they all make work enjoyable!
Can you describe your career with MCCU in three words?
How time flies!
What is your favorite MCCU memory?
I’ll always remember the time I did a loan closing at the hospital, right after a young gal came out of the delivery room. Also, some of my favorite memories were made with my co-workers after hours.
What are your plans for retirement?
I plan to fish, hunt, travel and spend time with family and friends. I plan to still do some work — on my terms.
Any last parting words?
The key to many things in life: You have to think like a politician and then do the opposite! Be honest, under promise and over deliver!
Last day at MCCU: April 23, 2021
