MCCU- Sandstone is Proud to Be Dementia Friendly
(Sandstone, MN) January 19, 2017 Members Cooperative Credit Union (MCCU) has partnered with Family Pathways to become a ‘Dementia Friendly’ credit union. Management and staff at the Sandstone branch received customized training focused on creating a dementia-friendly environment, communication strategies, and making financial adjustments to accommodate those living with the disease.
Following the completion of Family Pathways’s dementia training program, MCCU- Sandstone is displaying a ‘Dementia Friendly’ sign demonstrating that their credit union is committed to delivering dementia friendly banking and a professional and caring service from employees.

- More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s (91,000 in Minnesota).
- Common warning signs of Alzheimer’s Disease include memory loss; difficulty completing tasks; trouble understanding visual images; misplacing items and losing the ability to retrace steps; changes in mood and personality; withdrawn; confusion with time and place; difficulty with words when speaking or writing; decreased or poor judgement; and challenges in planning or solving problems.
