Barb Woodrow
Retired & Admired
Warmest congratulations to Barb Woodrow as she celebrates 17 years at MCCU and her final days before retirement! Wishing you good times, good health, and good friends beside you as you enjoy the next chapter of your life. We will miss you!
Let’s turn the clock back to your beginning days at MCCU. What position did you first interview for? How did you learn of the position? What was your interview like?
I started as a part-time MSR; I heard about the position from a friend. I remember the interview feeling a bit scary, but Pam and Sandy were great.
What is your favorite MCCU memory?
There are a lot of great memories with my coworkers. I still remember the look of shock on my coworkers’ faces when a member said something very inappropriate to me. We could only laugh after he left.
What are some work-related facts about you?
I enjoy helping people with their account problems, and I have known a lot of our senior members my whole life and vice-versa.
How has the financial world changed since you first started at MCCU?
Wow, there are so many regulations to follow; everything changed a great deal after 9/11. Also, we perform our jobs as paperless as possible now.
What three items would you put in an MCCU time capsule to be opened up 100 years from now?
I would add my first name tag (I still have it), a pile of two-part receipts, and a pen with our logo.
What story would your colleagues share about you?
They would most likely mention my habit of talking to myself and answering myself. I also like to sing along with music, but I’m not very good. I’m sure they think I’m a little crazy – they could be right.
Last day at MCCU: April 23, 2021
