The Power of Me


As a non-profit financial cooperative, our mission is to be the primary positive financial influence in the lives of our members/owners.
In living out this mission, we work hard to provide education and resources to our members and the communities we serve.

Each year, MCCU offers the Future Leaders Scholarship to graduating seniors who will be moving on to an accredited college or school.
Applications for awards for the 2017-2018 school year will be accepted from Feb.1, 2017- March 31, 2017. No late entries will be accepted.

We will be awarding a total of 12 scholarships, the amounts are as follows:

1- $5000
1- $2500
5- $1000
5- $500


To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be a graduating senior, planning to attend college in the 2017-18 school year.
The school they plan to attend must be accredited by a regional or national accreditation agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
Candidates must complete all application requirements and submit items by the 3/31/17 deadline.

Application Guidelines and Requirements

Describe a primary quality of leadership and why it is important to leadership.
Describe a leader who has inspired you, and how they impacted your life.
Describe the most important lesson you learned from a leader in your life?

The essay should be approximately 500 words in length, double-spaced. It may be written in any form. Spelling and grammar will be considered.

Completed applications and all supporting documents, including recommendation letters, must be emailed, postmarked or hand delivered by March 31, 2017. Finalists will be notified in early spring and invited to attend a mixer where they will mingle with selection committee members over snacks and refreshments.  Scholarship funds will be available to the recipients January 31, 2018, contingent upon the submittal of recipients’ college transcripts, including completion of the 2017 fall semester.
