What's a Credit Union?

Our credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative.  Members pool their funds through savings which are then loaned to other members through loans.  Income received by our credit union is distributed back to our membership through overall higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and lower fees than you might find at other institutions.  Though we make our products and services an excellent value to our members, they are as good or better than you might find at any financial institution in the world.

Our governing Board of Directors are members just like you, elected by our members at our Annual Meeting, whose interests always lie in serving members as best we can.  MCCU exists to serve our members.  How can we serve you?  We hope you will make MCCU your first stop when you are shopping for financial services.  Your continued support and business will keep our credit union strong for generations to come.

Unique among financial institutions

It can be easy to confuse a credit union with a bank or other types of financial institutions.  After all, we all offer many of the same financial services you use and need very day.  But a credit union will never be a bank, or any other kind of financial institution owned by a small group of shareholders. Why? Because all of members, not just a small group, have a stake in our credit union and are part-owners of our organization.
